Review:
There's a guitar, which is dominant in the mix, on which chords are played. Mostly in the same way through the whole of the album. There are drums and bass, far too low in the mix. There are vocals, which are compressed both in volume and in equalisation, so they sound like they are being sung into a cheap microphone. I couldn't make out the words much, but to be honest I found it hard to make the effort to try and pick them out. Maybe they are earth-shatteringly poignant lyrics which would change my life, but they are buried in such musical mediocrity that it would be hard for me to take them to heart. Dull, the same texture pretty much all the way through, not particularly tight, and I'm not happy with the bland production.
Apparently some critics loved it, and some hated it. I'm with the haters, as I'm sure you can tell. There are too many bands that sound like this, there is nothing distinctive about it. They're like a cheap knockoff copy of The Killers without any of the heart or soul or... well they were broth that needs salt. They were a uniform grey wall.
