Review:
I like it, quite a bit. There is a thickness and depth to the music that I like, kind of gritty but warm at the same time. Some tracks sound like a mixture of the heavier end of Indie (Franz Ferdinand, earlier Radiohead) and some rave sounds from the 90s, and some just sound like the heavier Indie. It's kind of a mixture of electronic sounds and rock. Everything sounds a bit overdriven, and slightly fast so that it has a hurried, urgent, slightly chaotic sound. There's a particular vocal sound that comes from mostly having two voices singing in octaves.
I guess what I haven't added into the mix there is that sometimes it has a somewhat punky chaos to it. It's actually all quite deliberate, and carefully produced, but it does have a sound of rawness and liveness that comes across well. I keep being reminded of the song that goes "what's that coming over the hill is it a monster?" by the automatic. Similar feel and vibe at times.
The songs are themed, about near-future stories, and are quite interesting, but like much of this sort of music, the lyrics take second place to the vibe. I like it, it's a nice vibe. I have enjoyed having this to listen to.
